Bradford Babies, Healthy Babies: READY, STEADY, GROW!
Healthy babies and children are at the heart of a healthy, happy future.
It’s no secret that good nutrition and physical activity during pregnancy and the early years are important for children’s development and long-term health. But, under the pressures of everyday life, and with so much information and advice out there, it can be hard to know if you’re doing the ‘right’ things.
This was the focus of Baby Week Bradford 2023, when we grew, cooked, fed, ate, moved, danced and WIGGLED!
- Over 1600 of you joined us at one of the 40 organised events – from woodland walks to starting solids workshops – or created activities in your own settings
- We posted out 225 Healthy Habits Bumper Boxes across the district, containing our Healthy Habits Activity Cards and lots of other resources and goodies
- We created the Baby Week Wiggle, and from Airedale Shopping Centre to Odsal Stadium, you wiggled in your droves!
- CBeebies’ George Webster joined us at our family festival at Odsal Stadium to read his book ‘This is Me’ and led you all in the Baby Week Wiggle
- Each of the four Family Hubs organised their own family event, with 300 of you going along to get advice about nutrition, oral health and exercise, while enjoying a host of fun activities

1001 Days of Nutrition: 14 November 2023
170 health and early years professionals from across the Bradford district gathered to explore why good nutrition is vital during pregnancy and the earliest years of life at this special conference, 1001 Days of Nutrition, hosted by Dr Amir Khan.
